Credit/customer card insurance
If you lose your wallet while travelling, just give us a call and we will get the card issuers to block the cards. We also cover costs of up to CHF 500 per year for replacing the lost cards and identity documents.

We distinguish between basic cover and additional cover. The basic package includes hospital and medical costs, legal protection insurance and a 24-hour immediate assistance service. Our travel insurance covers any health costs exceeding your basic insurance in the event of a medical emergency anywhere in the world. With the top-up package for our Vacanza travel insurance, you also benefit from cover for lost luggage and cancellation costs, as well as credit card and customer card insurance.

The price depends on the scope of benefits chosen as well as the term of the insurance. V⁠i⁠s⁠a⁠n⁠a Vacanza is already included in Hospital, Outpatient and Basic top-up insurance – for trips of up to eight weeks per year.

You can individually extend Vacanza travel insurance, with a choice between 16 or 26 weeks or 8, 10 or 12 months per year. Ideally, you should base the term of the insurance on the duration of your trip when concluding the contract – to make sure you are not overinsured or underinsured.

Vacanza travel insurance is valid worldwide, irrespective of whether you are travelling in Europe, Asia or the Americas. The insurance cover starts when your journey begins and ends when you return to Switzerland – within the term of insurance selected.

Vacanza travel insurance is automatically included for eight weeks per trip in our Hospital and Outpatient top-up insurance plans. For longer trips we recommend taking out our long-term insurance. You can choose between 8, 16 or 26 weeks’ or 8, 10 or 12 months’ insurance cover per year. Important: You should adapt the term to suit your travel arrangements and make sure you have optimal cover abroad at all times.

V⁠i⁠s⁠a⁠n⁠a Vacanza provides individual insurance. This means that, in the event of a claim, it is assessed whether the person concerned has Vacanza cover. An illustrative example: A mother and her two children are insured with Vacanza travel insurance, while the father is not. The father falls ill, meaning the trip cannot be taken. The cancellation insurance provides benefits for the mother and the children, but not for the father. The father is the reason for cancellation, but he is not insured himself. Nonetheless, his illness gives the other insured family members the right to claim benefits. We therefore recommend taking out Vacanza travel insurance for all persons travelling in the group.

Insurance cover starts upon departure from Switzerland, provided that the premium was paid in advance. Insurance cover ends upon the return to Switzerland or, if sooner, the expiry of the term of the insurance.

In order to ensure seamless protection, please make sure that the cover period selected (e.g. 8, 16 or 26 weeks) coincides with the actual duration of the trip.
