Debt enforcement register record deletion at a glance

The debt enforcement register still shows a record of debt enforcement proceedings even after you have paid in full. Creditors are under no obligation to delete records for paid debt enforcement proceedings from the debt enforcement register.

This can be a disadvantage when you apply for a flat, negotiate a loan or undergo other credit checks. However, Visana offers insured persons this service in its capacity as creditor, subject to the following basic conditions:

  • Debt enforcement register records cannot be deleted until all outstanding amounts due from the reminder and collection process have been paid.

  • We will charge a fee of CHF 30 for the deletion of justifiably initiated and fully paid debt enforcement proceedings.

  • Once payment has been received, we will ensure that the responsible debt enforcement office deletes the record from the debt enforcement register.

How debt enforcement record deletion works at Visana

  1. You will first receive a payment reminder for outstanding amounts. The fee is CHF 5.

  2. Should payment still not be received, a payment request will be sent:

    • CHF 50 for claims from compulsory basic insurance
    • CHF 10 for claims from top-up insurance
  3. If our claim is not settled, we have to file a request to open debt enforcement proceedings with the appropriate office. The costs incurred are based on the outstanding amount.

  4. The debt enforcement office initiates proceedings. A record of proceedings appears in the extract from the debt enforcement register and can have an impact on credit checks.

  5. You must settle the outstanding claim in full.
